KOHOKAI is a not‑for‑profit martial arts club dedicated to the study and practice of traditional Japanese budō. The club provides a respectful and disciplined training environment focused on correct form, long‑term personal development, and the preservation of classical martial traditions.

Training at KOHOKAI emphasises commitment, mutual respect, and personal responsibility, consistent with the values of traditional Japanese martial arts.

The mission of KOHOKAI is to support the study and preservation of traditional Japanese martial arts through disciplined practice, personal development, and the maintenance of safe, respectful, and inclusive training environments.

Arts Practised at Kohokai

KOHOKAI offers training in the following traditional Japanese martial arts:

Iaido — The art of drawing the sword, focusing on precise movement, awareness, and correct form.

Jodo — The classical art of the short staff, practised through formal kata.

Kyudo — Japanese archery practised as a budō, emphasising posture, form, composure, and discipline.

Each art is practised with attention to tradition, etiquette, and technical correctness.
